Re: GRE GMAT Difference

The GRE and GMAT both are Grduate entrance exam provided admission for master degree courses admission. The GMAT is the standardized test for Business school. Like the GRE, it consists of a Verbal and Quantitative section.

Unlike the GRE, the two sections are combined to give a composite score of 800.

The GMAT cannot be used in place of the GRE, so unless you are going to business school, do not take the GMAT.

Although the GMAT is primarily used in the business school application process and the GRE is typically used for other graduate majors, many programs give applicants the option of submitting the results of either exam.

Paper pattern of GRE and GMAT:

Graduate Record Examination
The GRE is offered year-round and tests potential graduate students in four areas:

Verbal reasoning
Quantitative reasoning
Critical thinking
Analytical skills

Graduate Management Admission Test
The GMAT tests verbal, math, analytical and integrative reasoning skills in four sections:

Analytical writing assessment
Quantitative
Verbal
Integrative reasoning
