There are different age limit for the government sector job. It vary according to the post and the field of the work.

UPSC:
21-30 years.

SSC 12TH level
: 18-28 years.

IBPS CLERK:
18-28years

IBPS P.O:
20-30 years.

NDA exam:
16.5 to 19 years


SBI P.O:
21-30 YEARS.

SBI CLERK:
18-28 years.

Lecturer jobs in TRB/TET :
max 57 years

Police Inspector jobs :
21-25 years

For candidate having B.Tech background and looking for a job in following core area :-

For most of the Government exams like UPSC, SSC, PSU, PSU the age limit is between 21-30 years.

For most of the exams relaxation up to 3-5 years is given for the following categories:
Ex-Service man,
SC/ST category,
OBC category,
Government servants
