Re: GMAT score or GRE score to pursue MBA abroad
Hello, here I am providing you the details of the both the exams as under: Both GMAT and GRE score are valid for the next 5 years. If you are definitely going for an MBA, than taking the GMAT would be an advantage. This would increase the options of business schools they can apply to. There may be candidates who in spite of repeated attempts at the GMAT may not be able to raise their scores or whose performance in the GMAT practice tests may not be up to the mark, so they may have got discouraged from taking their GMAT The cost of taking a GRE is $195 whereas that of the GMAT is $250 – a difference of $65 between the two. Both the GMAT and GRE is computer-based test and can be taken throughout the year. But at the places where computer based exams are not possible the GRE is taken on the paper. The exam formats of the GMAT and GRE are different. Since MBA courses started accepting two unrelated scores, the powers that be came up with a mapping table to convert GRE scores to GMAT scores. Business School % Average GRE Average GMAT Duke (Fuqua) 4% 590 690 Yale 18% 690 717 Michigan (Ross) 5% 630 703 Texas (McCombs) 13% 660 692 Carnegie Mellon (Tepper) 4% 600 693 UNC (Kenan-Flagler) 9% 570 692 Washington (Olin) 31% 540 698 |
