Re: GMAT Have Negative Marking

Hello, here I am providing you the details of the GMAT exam as under:

What is GMAT:
The GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) is a computer–adaptive test (CAT) required by most business schools. If you want to get accepted to a competitive school, your GMAT score is very important. However, GMAT scores vary in importance at different schools.

GMAT exam marking
There is no negative marking in the GMAT exam, so try to do all the questions.

Exam scoring:
Total GMAT scores range from 200 to 800; two-thirds of test takers score between 400 and 600. Verbal and Quantitative scores range from 0 to 60; scores below 9 and above 44 for the Verbal section and below 7 and above 50 for the Quantitative section are rare.

Paper pattern:
GMAT Test Section # of Questions Timing
Analytical Writing Assessment 1 Topic 30 Minutes
Integrated Reasoning 12 Questions 30 Minutes
Quantitative 37 Questions 75 Minutes
Verbal 41 Questions 75 Minutes
Total Exam Time 3hrs, 30 minutes

Tips to crack GMAT:
Practice a lot. Buy some good books and preparation guides, and practice as much as you can. I know this is a very basic tip and you already know it, but if you don't follow it, it would be of no use.

Know the right directions for various types of questions to raise your GMAT score. When you understand the directions of questions already, you wouldn't have to read them all over again during the test.

Take your chances and guess on the answers if you are not sure, because there is no negative marking for wrong answers and you can't leave the question unanswered anyway.

Use all the breaks that are offered to you. Also, get a new scratch paper for each break.

When you do not know the right answers, look at the question in a different way. Instead of finding the right answer, eliminate the wrong ones.
