Georgetown University Police Departments mission is to protect the Georgetown University community, ensuring a safe and secure learning and living environment through trusting partnerships and professional police services.

Campus Services

LIVESAFE
LiveSafe is an app for the Georgetown University community that provides a direct connection to campus police so that everyone can easily communicate all their safety needs.

EVENT SECURITY
The Department provides professional event security services for student, staff, and faculty events.

LOST AND FOUND
The Department maintains a repository of lost and found items. Members of the university community may report lost items, turn items in, or claim belongings in person at the GUPD office.

Its SafeRides program aims to provide a safe alternative to walking alone at night for Georgetown University staff, students and faculty. Walking or bicycle escorts from GUPD are also available for individuals.

NEIGHBORHOOD SHUTTLES
Neighborhood Shuttles operate during the academic year along three routes to and from the main gates of campus (37th and O Streets) in continuous loops through Burleith and West Georgetown, and along M Street.

EMERGENCY PHONES
Emergency phones, intercoms and call boxes are located throughout the Georgetown campus. Call boxes, easily identified by a bright blue light on top of them, are situated at strategic locations throughout campus for emergency use.

SEXUAL ASSAULT SERVICES
The Department works with Health Education Services' Sexual Assault Services Coordinator and other entities to respond and report incidents of sexual assault in a caring and supportive manner.
