Well the Gauhati University which is located in Jalukbari, Guwahati, is the first, oldest and renowned University in the entire North East India.

It was established in 1948.

Gauhati University Provide the following French language course


The department of Foreign Languages was established in 1968 with the introduction of one-year certificate course in Russian.

In 1971 a one-year certificate course in French was introduced. In later courses Diploma courses in French & Russian were introduced
