What is the future of those candidates who didn’t pass in JTO Exam of BSNL? I have appeared in this written exam and got failed this time. So pls tell me how many times I can apply for the JTO Exam? Is there a limit fixed by BSNL for this Examination? does the candidates who failed in this exam, can apply for other post in BSNL to make their future?

BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited) is the largest Public sector enterprise in the telecommunications industry. As per the latest TRAI data the company is still leading the wire line landline/ broadband market.


JTO (Junior Telecom Officer) is the entry level executive post in BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited) and do the work of middle management. Now, the recruitment of JTO in BSNL is through GATE. JTO is a Group B Officer post in BSNL.


BSNL (JTO) is an executive job while. BSNL (JE) is a non-executive job. JTOs work depends upon Job they have been allotted. JTO job profile for different sections is as follows:

JTO Outdoor: Responsible for New connection provision & fault repair of working connections

JTO Indoor: Responsible for day to day maintenance of telephone exchange

JTO BB: Maintenance of BB systems

JTO Marketing

JTO EB: Deals with enterprise customers

JTO Trans: Maintenance of OFC cable & related systems

JTO CSC: Handles the Day to day activities of Customer service centers

JTO Mobile: Responsible for Mobile BTS & BSC maintenance
