Re: Forest Schools Origin
Forest school is a kind of outdoor education in which children or adults visits forests/woodlands, learning personal, social and technical skills. Also we can say that "it is an inspirational process that offers children, young people and adults regular opportunities to achieve and develop confidence through hands-on learning in a woodland environment”. Forest school is both pedagogy and a physical entity. Originally the concept of forest school was developed in Wisconsin in 1927. Later in the 1950s the idea was introduced in Sweden, Denmark and other countries of Europe. List of forest schools situated in India are listed below: Assam Forest School National Highway No-37, Sath Mile, Guwahati University, Jalukbari, Guwahati, Assam 781014 Dowhill Forest School Kurseong, West Bengal 734203 Forest School Bus Stop Jalukbari, Guwahati, AS 781013 Gujarat Forest Rangers College Rajpipla, Gujarat 02640 220 011 Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy FRI and College Area, Dehradun, Uttarakhand 248006 0135 275 7316 • Forest Technical and Administrative Training Institute Kadugodi Industrial Area, Bengaluru, Karnataka Forest Training Institute Haldwani, Uttarakhand Forest Hill Academy SH 21, Vettaikaranpudur, Tamil Nadu A.P.Forest Academy Hyderabad, Telangana Map: [MAP]https://maps.google.co.in/maps?q=forest+schools+in+india&hl=en&sll=33.98051,-117.854019&sspn=1.348299,2.614746&hq=forest+school s&hnear=India&t=m&z=5[/MAP] |
