CAT (Common Admission Test) Exam is a national level examination conducted by the IIMs, its score is being followed by the IIMs, IITs, NITs, Faculty of Management Study and Indian Institutes of Science.

Key dates

Online Application Form Starts: 6th August to 20th September 2016
Admit Card download window: 25th October till Exam date
Exam Date: 29th November 2016
CAT 2015 Result: second week of January 2017

Require eliigblity
Students must have passed the graduation degree in any stream.

They must have secured the marks at least 50% or equivalent to CGPA (45% in case of SC/ST and Differently Abled).

Students who appearing graduation can also apply for the CAT 2016 but they must clear the graduation in same year with given qualifying criteria.

Seats Reservation
As per the government rule of India, 15% seats will be reserved for the SC, 7.5% for the ST candidates, 27% seats will be reserved for the OBC under Non-Creamy Layer candidates and 3% seats will be reserved for the persons with disabilities.

CAT exam pattern
The duration of the single paper CAT 2016 exam will be of 2 hours and 50 minutes.

The paper will comprise in 100 question basis on the quantitative ability & data interpretation and verbal ability and logical reasoning.

The examination will be held online only.

Each correct answer will be rewarded with 3 marks, each incorrect answer will be punished with 1 mark deduction and no mark will be provided to questions that are not answered.
