Engineering Services Examination is conducted by the UPSC. The examination is conducted for recruitment to the posts of Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering. ESE Exam eligibility- Degree in Engineering from a recognised university or equivalent. M.Sc degree or its equivalent with Wireless Communications, Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering as special subjects also acceptable for certain Services/posts only. Candidates appearing at their engineering degree or equivalent examination are also eligible to compete. Age-limits - 21-30 years on 1st August of the year of Examination. Important dates Start Date for IES 2015 Registration: 22nd March 2015 Last Date for IES Registration 2015: 21st April 2015 Date of ESE IES 2015 Exam: 20th June 2015( 3 Days exam) Application Fee Rs. 200 for - General/OBC candidates is Rs. 200 No Application fee for - SC, ST, PH and female candidates IES exam pattern- ESE 2015 is a combined four stage examination that consists of six test. Paper I Type:-Objective General Ability Test Sections:- (Part A: General English) (Part B: General Studies) Marks:- 200 marks Papers II & III Type:- Objective Sections/Subjects:-Civil Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering Marks:- 200 marks for each paper. Paper IV and V Type- Conventional Sections/Subjects:-Civil Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering Marks:- 200 marks for each paper. Total Marks for the Written Examination:- 1000 marks Total Marks for the Interview and Personality test:- 200 marks IES 2015 Syllabus:- Apart from General Awareness and General English, there will be separate papers for every discipline i.e. Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering. Questions for each discipline will be from the third year or fourth year engineering syllabus of B.E/B.Tech examination. The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts Engineering Services Examination as a combined competitive examination for recruitment to the services or posts of Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, And Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering Eligibility required for the Engineering Services Exam: Eligibility Age Eligibility: You need to be between 21 years to 30 years as on 1st January of the exam year. Age relaxations exist as per the government rules. Academic Qualification Eligibility: You must be a graduate in Engineering from a recognized university. Final year students can also appear in IES exam.
