As you say that you want to take admission in the IIT for the Ph.D in math’s course. for this you should need to clear the IIT JAM exam. IIT JAM exam Joint Admission Test for M.Sc. (JAM) is an all-India examination conducted across the country jointly by Indian Institutes of Technology and Indian Institute of Science. JAM is an all India Entrance examination for admission to M.Sc. (Two Year), Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D., M.Sc.-Ph.D. Dual Degree and other Post-Bachelor's Degree programs at the IITs and to the Integrated Ph.D. programs at IISc. The programs offered at IIT through JAM 2015 are: Joint MSc-PhD in Chemistry Geology Geophysics Mathematics Physics IIT-JAM Eligibility The applicant must have Bachelor’s degree in Biology or Chemistry or Physics or Mathematics. The candidates should have passed Biology at the Higher Secondary (10+2) level. The applicant have minimum of 60 per cent marks for GEN/OBC There is 5% per cent relaxation for SC/ST category in aggregate A minimum CPI of 6.0 for GEN/OBC A minimum CPI of 5.5 for SC/ST |
