What is the eligibility criteria and qualification required for NET exam?

The National Eligibility Test (NET) is conducted by University Grants Commission (UGC), New Delhi

Eligibility criteria:
Candidates must have score 55% marks in Masters Degree.

The candidates who are in their final year of Masters programme can also apply

The candidates who hold PhD degree and have completed their Masters degree shall be provided relaxation of marks up to 5 per cent.

Last date for applying Online & generation of filled Bank Challan for Fee:
Monday; May 05, 2014

Last date of submission of Fee through online generated Bank Challan, at any branch of State Bank of India (SBI):
Wednesday; May 07, 2014

Last date of taking printout of Application Form, Attendance Slip and Admit Card from UGC website:
Saturday; May 10, 2014

Last date for receiving the printout of online Application Form (one copy) and Attendance Slip (one copy) at the respective Coordinating University opted by the candidate (with fee receipt & category certificate:

I did my post graduation in MSC (Computer science) from distance learning. am I eligible for the NET Exam?

You are eligible for the National Eligibility exam. Let me tell you full eligibility criteria.

Eligibility Criteria
Must have master degree with 55% without rounding off marks from any institute recognized by UGC.

Candidate who are in final year or waiting for the result may also apply. But need to submit the all mark sheets at time of interview.

P.hd holder completed by 15 spt. 1991 shall be eligible with 5% relaxation in marks

Important Dates

Opening Date of Online Registration: 15 October 2014

Last Date of Online Registration: 15 November 2014

Date of Examination: 28 December 2014 (Sunday)


How To Apply : following procedure should follow for the application

Candidate seeking UGC-NET, must apply online on UGC website.

Before applying Online, the candidates must have the Scanned passport size photograph in JPEG format of less than 300 kb.

After filling the application from the website will generate the bank challan then submit the application fee of NET Exam
