Re: Dzimbanhete Arts Interactions centre

Dzimbanhete Arts Interactions (DAI), an arts and culture source centre will be hosting a Festival of Afrikan Arts Culture well known as FESTAC an idea whose legacy dates back to the early sixties emanating from foundations deeply rooted in the ideals of the Organisation of African Union, now the Africa Union.

The festival, which was dubbed FESTAC Mbira-Folk Sunsplash in the year 2015 was expected to run for two weeks during the month of December, in honour of President Mugabe.

DAI which is situated along the Bulawayo road already has an all Africa Village that is representative of the nearly 54 African countries’ and several architectural styles are already being constructed for this event.

The activities that followed the successful establishment of this Afrikan Village had encouraged inter-cultural interactions and appreciation among Afrikans, increase discourse as well as appreciation of African cultural values and knowledge systems.

Some of the foremost activities included, embassies being invited to hold their national days at their respective villages, Cultural Residency Programs whereby cultural practitioners were invited from various African countries to stay at their respective villages for a considerable number of days while sharing their ways, showcasing their food, attire, crafts, stories and all that matters to them as a people.
