Dr.B.R. Ambedkar Open University Hyderabad was established in 1982 through an Act of Andhra Pradesh State Legislature, subsequently, the University was renamed as Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University in 1991 by the Government of Andhra Pradesh.
