DNP3 (Distributed Network Protocol) is an arrangement of interchanges conventions utilized between segments as a part of procedure robotization frameworks. Its primary use is in utilities, for example, electric and water organizations. Utilization in different commercial ventures is not regular.

It was produced for interchanges between different sorts of information obtaining and control hardware. It assumes a urgent part in SCADA frameworks, where it is utilized by SCADA Master Stations (otherwise known as Control Centers), Remote Terminal Units (RTUs), and Intelligent Electronic Devices (IEDs). It is essentially utilized for correspondences between an expert station and RTUs or IEDs. ICCP, the Inter-Control Center Communications Protocol (a some portion of IEC 60870-6), is utilized for between expert station correspondences.

Modbus RTU

Modbus RTU is a piece of the Modicon's Modbus group of conventions that works on the serial system layer. With the assistance of a FieldServer customer we can set and recover Modbus RTU information from your gadget and make it accessible to different gadgets, or we can imitate a Modbus ace and serve information to your Modbus gadget from other non Modbus gadgets

Connecting Modbus to DNP3

You have two gadgets in two unique structures on two totally diverse systems, one that uses the Modbus RTU convention to impart, while the other one talks DNP3 convention and they have to converse with one another. What do you do?

A FieldServer is a convention converter or portal that can convey in a wide range of conventions and physical layers including Modbus RTU convention and the DNP3 convention. The Fieldserver goes about as a center man between the two gadgets. It peruses information from one gadget, stores it inside and makes it accessible to the second gadget utilizing another convention. This is the manner by which the FieldServer changes over Modbus RTU information to DNP3 information.
