General information
General Information related to Ph.D. Admissions:
The admissions of foreign research scholars into the Ph.D. programme offered by various faculties in the University shall be made in two stages, viz.,
Provisional Admission, and
Final admission.
A candidate who is found eligible to get admission in Ph.D. is initially given provisional admission. On procurement of research visa he/she is given final admission.
The allotment of topic and supervisor shall be made by the Dean after finalization of the same by the concerned Departmental Committee.
Ph.D. Course work:
Every candidate admitted into the Ph.D. programme shall complete the course work consisting of two theory papers, viz.,
Research Methodology; and
Broad field of Specialization
Each candidate shall attend a minimum of 75% of 60 contact hours of classes in each theory paper, to be eligible for writing the Pre-Ph.D. examination.

The medium of instruction and examination in the course work is English only.

The maximum number of attempts to pass in the Pre-Ph.D. examination is two only.
About some details of Ph.D. Programme.

The foreign students shall report to the Dean of the Faculty with the letter of final admission and join the Ph.D. Programme.

The Dean shall admit the scholar and initiate the process of identifying the research guide supervisor in consultation with the Departmental committee.
The date of reporting of the foreign student to the Dean shall be the date of joining into the programme for all purposes.

The annual tuition fee payable is accounted from the above date of joining at the office of UFRO, O.U.
