Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics, commonly known as Gokhale Institute, is one of the oldest research and training institutes in Economics in India. The Institute publishes a quarterly journal of economics in English, Artha Vijnana

About the Career :

He has 33 years of experience in research and teaching at the post graduate level. Prior to joining Gokhale Institute of Politics & Economics, Pune, as RBI Chair Professor in 2007, he served as Professor at National Insurance Academy, Pune, where he was instrumental in the formulation of weather insurance programme in India.

Research Activities

As Officiating Director Prof.Parchure has successfully upheld the legacy of Gokhale Institute of Politics & Economics, Pune by strengthening research activities and by introducing new academic programmes in specialized and emerging areas M. Sc. (Financial Economics),M. Sc. (Agribusiness Economics)and M. Sc. (International Business Economics and Finance).He successfully leads a team of dynamic faculty at the Institute in promoting teaching learning processeswhich are at par with renowned global universities.

Book Published

Prof. Parchure has published six books, five monographs and fifty research articles on various fields of Economics such as capital markets, actuarial science, etc.

His book on The Theory of International Values published by Wiley is widely referred. His area of research spans are Financial Economics, Managerial Economics, Linear Economics, Corporate Finance and Investments, Input-Output Analysis and Actuarial Methods in General and Life Insurance.

Currently, Prof. Parchure is the chairman of the Sub-Group of Risk Management in Agriculture, XIIth Five Year Plan (2012-2017) and Member Executive Committee, Input-Output Research Association of India
