As you want to get the details of difference between Creamy and Non-Creamy layer of OBC so here it is for you:

The difference between creamy layer and non creamy layer is based on annual income that is if the person’s annual income more than 4.5 lac then he would be considered as creamy Layer and would not be able to gain benefits from the Govt.

The creamy Layer is a term whim is used for those OBCs who are relatively wealthier and better educated members of the OBC classes.

Whereas NON Creamy Layers, those person whose annual income is below 4.5 lac , then he would be considered as Non Creamy layer .

There are two categories of OBC students, Creamy Layer and Non Creamy Layer. The difference in both categories is given below:

Creamy Layer:
Candidates Belonging to Parents whose total gross annual income was >/= Rs. 4,50,000 /- Come Under this Category.

Non-Creamy Layer:
This is for those obc candidates who will be benefited with the reservation for the admission in educational institute under government of India

The main difference in Creamy and Non creamy layer is on the basis of Annual income of Family.

The Annual income of people is above 4.5 Lacs is belonging to OBC Creamy Layer

The Annual income of people below is 4.5 Lacs is belonging to OBC Non-Creamy Layer

OBC creamy Layer does not get nay benefit

They does not get Under the reserved category

They are treated like General category.

OBC non creamy layer gets benefits for exams and jobs.

For UPSC,the age limit for OBC NC is 21-33years and the number of attempts is 7.

The cutoff required to qualify the exam is also lower than general category.

Re: Difference between Creamy and Non-Creamy layer of OBC

OBC (Other Backward Class) is a term that is used collectively by the government of India to identify or to classify castes which are educationally or socially deprived or disadvantaged. Other Backward Class is an official classification done by the government.

Other classification consists of Scheduled Casts (SC) and scheduled tribes (ST). Though Schedule class and Schedule tribes too gain the advantages presented to them by the government. OBC Category is divided into two categories namely creamy layer OBC and non-creamy layer OBC by the government of India.

Difference between OBC-CL and OBC-NCL

The term Creamy Layer is used for a particular category of OBC, or those members of the OBC that are wealthier, better educated and overall better off in comparison to other members of the OBC category. This is the basic difference between the Creamy layer and the Non-creamy layer OBC.

To make the OBC a homogeneous class, the developed or more advanced persons are excluded from getting benefits/reservations by applying this principle. The OBC creamy layer does not get any benefit and is treated as a part of the General Category.

As a rule, the creamy layer is decided, based upon the income of the parents/household. Thus, if the parents’ income of a person belonging to the OBC category is above Rs. 8 Lakhs per annum, he would fall under the “Creamy Layer”.

Similarly, OBC persons where the household income is below Rs. 8 Lakhs per annum, would fall under the “Non-Creamy Layer” of OBC and would thus be entitled to the relevant benefits/reservations.

OBC-CL – OBC creamy layer OBC-NCL – OBC non-creamy layer

Income: Above 8 Lakh Income: Below 8 Lakh

Family Income: Above 8 lakh when Family Income: Below 8 lakh when total of all
added together (Income from farming not family member income (Income from any
to be included) farming sources are not included)

Treated as equivalent to general category Get Benefit in government released scheme and
hence get few or no benefit in government competitive examination.
scheme and examination.
