Re: Difference between Biotech and Genetic Engineering
As you want to get the details of difference between Biotech and Genetic Engineering so here it is for you: Genetics is the study of DNA and heredity. It is focused on the genetic make-up of an organism which is influence by the introduction or eradication of particular genes. Biotechnology is associated with biology. It is concerned with making use of living organisms and their components to make goods and is applied in the fields of medicine, business and agriculture. Biotechnology is the procedure of gene manipulation while Genetic engineering is the method of the isolation, identification and cloning of DNA. Re: Difference between Biotech and Genetic Engineering
As you want to do B. Tech but you are confused in Biotech and Genetic Engineering stream so for that you want to get suggestion so here I am giving you same information. Both streams are good at their places so you should choose that stream in which you have interest. Biotechnology is a field of applied biology that involves the use of living organisms and bioprocesses in engineering, technology, medicine and other fields requiring bio-products. Genetic engineering, also called genetic modification, is the direct human manipulation of an organism's genome using modern DNA technology. B. Tech Biotechnology Duration: 4 Years Level: 10+2 Type: Degree Eligibility: Candidate must have 10+2 or Equivalent with the subjects of PCM from a recognized board. Here are the some good colleges in India for B. Tech Genetic Engineering: Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh (Uttar Pradesh) Andhra University: College of Science and Technology, Vishakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh) Assam University, Silchar (Assam) Banaras Hindu University: Faculty of Science, Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh) Berhampur University, Berhampur (Orissa) BITS Pilani Rajasthan Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli (Tamil Nadu) Christ College, Rajkot (Gujarat) Delhi University, New Delhi (Delhi) Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore (Madhya Pradesh) Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University: Faculty of Science & Faculty of Life Sciences, Aurangabad (Andhra Pradesh) Fergusson College, Pune (Maharashtra) Goa University: Faculty of Science, Taleigao Plateau (Goa) Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar (Punjab) Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi (Delhi) Kakatiya University, Warangal (Andhra Pradesh) |
