University of Delhi was established in the year 1922. It is located at New Delhi, Delhi, India and affiliated to UGC, NAAC, AIU .

The objectives of National Service Scheme (NSS) are mentioned as under:

• To enable the students to understand the community in which they work.

• To make the students understand themselves in relation with their community.

• To identify the needs and problems of the community and find a solution of which they can be part of.

• To develop among students a sense of social and civic responsibility.

• To acquire leadership qualities and democratic attitude.

• To develop capacity to meet emergencies and national disasters

• To practice national integration.

Activities --
Most of the NSS Units involve activities like Seminars, Workshops, and Debates on the different social issues.

 NSS volunteers also actively participate in the different activities of renowned Non- Government Organizations (NGOs).

 The NSS Units organize Self Defense Training Program for the NSS volunteers in many girls’ colleges.

 Some colleges of University of Delhi have participated in a pilot project with NGO Parvah, training students and strengthening Youth Citizenship in University of Delhi.
