The details of test components of Section (A) is as under:-
Questions will be designed to test the candidate’s General Awareness of the environment around him and its application to society.

Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observation and experience in their scientific respect as may be expected of an educated person.

The test will include questions relating to Indian Society, Socio-Economic and Development Issues, Human Rights and Geo-Cultural aspects in Education.

It will also include questions on India and its neighboring countries especially pertaining to History, Geography, Economics, Polity & Constitution, Art & Culture, General Science & Scientific Research, National/International Organizations/Institutions.

The syllabus for Cognitive Ability, Logic and Reasoning includes questions of both verbal and non-verbal types i.e. questions on analogies, similarities, differences, space visualization, problem solving, analysis, jud gment, decision making, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship, concepts, arithmetical reasoning, verbal and figure classification, arithmetical number series etc.

The test Arithmetical Ability will cover Number System including questions on Simplification, Decimals, Fractions, L.C.M., H.C.F., Ratio & Proportion, Percentage, Average, Profit & Loss, Discount, Simple & Compound Interest, Mensuration, Time & Work, Time & Distance, Tables & Graphs, etc.

This section will also include Educational Psychology / Technology, Teaching and Learning Processes and related topics.

This section will also include questions on testing of candidate’s understanding of Hindi Language, its Vocabulary, Grammar, Sentence Structure, Synonyms, Antonyms and its correct usage etc.

PART-II
Part-II will consist of Descriptive type Questions on the concerned subjects of 200 marks to be answered in 150 minutes in the space provided in the Question Answer Booklet.

General Posts Tier I: There will be a 200 Marks paper containing objective type multiple choice questions on the following main topics:
General Awareness: 40 Marks
General Intelligence & Reasoning: 40 Marks
Arithmetic & Numerical Ability: 40 Marks
Test of Hindi Language & Comprehension: 40 Marks
Test of English Language & Comprehension: 40 Marks

General Post Tier II: There will be 200 Marks paper of MCQ type and the tier II of the Question Paper is of 275 Marks in which 75 Marks of descriptive paper and 200 Marks of objective paper.

The Descriptive paper is based on two parts: Part I- Multiple Choice Questions on Subject /Qualifying Degree (200 Marks) and Part II- Descriptive English Essay Writing (50 Marks), Letter Writing/ Expansion of Ides in English (25 Marks) respectively.
