Defence Institute of Quality Assurance, Bangalore of Directorate General of Quality Assurance is established to make in knowledge to Indian Army, Indian Navy, Indian Air Force, DRDO, DGOF, SISI, Defence PSU about the field of Quality Management, Quality Assurance, latest Quality Management techniques etc..
In addition it also organize seminars on Quality Management, Information Technology as well as conduct sponsored courses.



The Place
1. Bangalore is a Historic City built by Chieftain Kempegowda. This
is also known as Garden City as the city boasts of two very huge
green parks i.e. Lalbagh & Cubbon Park and plenty of green cover.
Now the city is also known as Silicon City of India as many InfoTech
industries large and small, are located in Bangalore including BPO
Centres. It is also known as IT Capital of India. Earlier the place
was known as a retirement paradise. Now the City is bustling with
variety of activities and has become one of the major economic
centres of the country and an ideal educational destination too. The
city now is renamed as Bengaluru. Due to these activities not only
people from all over the Country but also large numbers of Foreigners
are settled here. Hence the City culture is Cosmopolitan in nature.
The Weather
2. Weather is by and large salubrious through out the year. In
winters (Mid Nov to Jan) the minimum temperature goes down to 13°
C and in summers (April & May) the maximum temperature goes up to
36° to 38° C. Rains are due in June, July, Nov and Dec. For
winters light woollens will provide adequate comfort.
About DIQA
3. Defence Institute of Quality Assurance (DIQA) was established
in 1992 to train DGQA officers in the fields of Quality and
Reliability. In addition the Institute also trains Officers of Army,
Navy, Air Force and Defence PSUs in subjects related to Quality and
Reliability. This Institute plays a vital role in the organizational
development of DGQA. DIQA also acts as a Think Tank of DGQA

4. DIQA has well equipped class rooms with state of art
Multimedia Audio and Video facilities with dedicated computers for
individual Student Officers. This Institute has a well stocked Library
with more than 2000 books on subjects related to Quality,
Reliability, Leadership, Computers, Electronics, Human Resource and
General Management. In addition, there is a huge collection of
National and International Quality Standards and Journals which
contain latest trends in varied subjects related to the training
imparted by the Institute. Course Participants are encouraged to
utilize the Library Facility to the full extent while at DIQA.
5. DIQA works from 0830 hrs to 1700 hrs from Monday to
Friday. Saturday and Sunday are holidays. However, the Training /
Classroom / Lecture timings may vary / extend as per requirements
of the Course Time Table.

Reaching DIQA
7. For Officer’s convenience, direction & Route Map are given at
Pages 3 & 4.
(a) Distance from Bengaluru Kempegowda International Airport
to Mekhri Circle is about 30 kms. AC Volvo buses are plying @
of Rs.175/-. DIQA is located at a distance of about 5 KM
from Mekhri Circle. Approximate auto fare from Mekhri Circle
is about Rs.70/-
(b) Bengaluru Cantt Rly Stn to DIQA: 5 KM approx.
Bengaluru City Rly Stn: 13 KM approx.
(c) Prepaid taxis can be booked from Airport if required on
arrival and in advance on Telephone Nos. (i)

(d) Adequate Sign Postings at major junction points have been
placed for the convenience of the Officers
(e) Officers are requested to plan their move so that they
reach DIQA before 2200 hours preferably.
Arrival & Reception
8. All Officers nominated for Courses are required to reach
Bengaluru well in advance and report at Vishveshwarayya / Juran
Classroom on the day of commencement of Course by 0830 hrs.

Stay at DIQA
9. Well-furnished Single Officers Accommodation with dedicated
Computers with Internet Facility in each room is available within the
Campus. A total of 10 rooms with one double bed are available for
allotment on first come first serve basis. Only on full occupation NAC
shall be provided to stay outside under own arrangement. Prior
permission of the Director must be obtained in case any Officer
wishes to bring family. You may please look for outside hotels
through Internet.
10. DIQA Officers’ Mess is situated within the Institute Campus
and the catering is on Contract Basis. A small CSD is located within
the Campus for basic needs. MI Room Facility for Service Officers is
available at PRTC at a distance of 02 KM, Airforce Training
Command approximately at a distance of 05 KM and for Civilian
Officers at CQA (L) approximately at a distance of 03 KM.
11. Clearance of Mess Bills: Since the catering is on Contract Basis,
the catering charges shall be paid in cash / local cheque / multicity
cheque to the Caterer. However the Room Rent and allied charges
shall be paid in local / multicity cheque only. Accordingly two
separate Bills are being raised.
