Re: Dance club BITS Pilani
The dance club is one of the most active performing clubs BITS Pilani campus. It is presently functioning with strength of 40 members; all dance enthusiasts who hail from all four years of engineering. About the club It consists of a 5-member core committee, including the coordinator and the sub-coordinator that handles the administration of the club. Every semester, the club holds inductions for new members. They are organized by the club members themselves and judged by the seniors of the club. Club Activities Having the freshers put up a dance performance during the Big Break Organizing dance events and performing during Waves - the cultural festival of BITS, Goa (during odd semesters) Putting up the Dance Night (during even semesters) Participating in fests of other colleges (throughout the year) Big Break The Big Break is a platform for freshers to showcase their various talents. The dance club holds inductions for the Big Break and selects a few freshers who then put up a performance that is choreographed by the existing members of the club. The inductions to get into the club are held separately and independently after the Big Break. Waves The dance club is responsible for the various dance events that take place during the fest, including Natyanjali, one of the biggest and most popular events of the fest. This year the club will be handling three other events, Sizzle, Dhinchak and Jumelé. Past achievements The club is credited with many unforgettable dance performances organised in the past, both during Waves and Dance Nights. The club has also participated in and won several competitions. The competitions organised by various colleges in Goa like Danz on (where the dance club has won twice consecutively), or Christ University (Bangalore), IIM (Bangalore), NIT (Calicut, Surathkal), BITS (Hyderabad) and the India Fest organised by Channel V are just a few to name. |
