Anna University was founded on 4th September 1978 as a unitary type of University to promote teaching and research in the field of Engineering, Technology, Architecture and Applied Sciences.

This University has established four regional centres at Tiruchirappalli, Coimbatore, Madurai and Tirunelveli and thirteen constituent colleges.

CTDT:
Centre for Industrial Consultancy and Sponsored research was established by Anna University, Chennai on 28th Dec 2006 to encourage applied research and technology transfer.

This Centre started its activities in August 2006. The Centre was renamed as the "Centre for Technology Development and Transfer" (CTDT) in feb 2007 and was formally inaugurated by the President of India, His Excellency Dr.A.P.J.Abdul Kalam on 23th Feb 2007.

Guidelines for Research Support Scheme (RSS) For Students:

Under The Guidance of a Faculty Member (Guide)

Eligibility:
Any full time UG / PG student in his /her pre final year – odd semester of CEG, A.C.Tech, SAP and MIT Campuses is eligible to apply.

Amount:
The maximum amount that could be sanctioned shall be Rs.25,000/- per project.

Project Duration:
The duration shall be a maximum of six months.
