CSIR-UGC conduct NET exam for Junior Research Fellowship and for Lectureship. CSIR-UGC NET Exam is conducted in the following areas: -

Chemical Sciences
Mathematical Sciences
Physical Sciences
Engineering Sciences
Earth Sciences
Life Sciences

Eligibility ---

- You should have completed BS 4 Years program/BE/B.Tech/B.Pharma/MBBS/Integrated BS-MS/M.Sc or equivalent degree with not less than 55% marks for general and OBC (50% for SC/ST candidates, physically and visually Handicapped candidates)
-Candidate having B.Sc (Hons) or equivalent degree holders or students enrolled in Integrated MS-PhD program must have secured minimum 55% marks for general and OBC candidates; 50% marks for SC/ST candidates, physically and visually handicapped candidates
- Minimum Age should be 19 Years and Maximum 28 years for JRF
- Upper age limit for JRF may be relaxed up to 5 years as in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC(Non Creamy Layer), Physically handicapped/Visually handicapped and female applicants
- There is no upper age limit for Lecturership

Date of Single MCQ Examination: June 22, 2014 (Sunday)
Date of Start of Online Submission:February 10, 2014
Last Date for Online Registration: March 4, 2014
Last Date of Submitting Online Application Fee: March 3, 2014
Last Date for receipt of Hardcopy/ Printout of Online application: March 8, 2014
Last date for receipt of application from candidates of far-flung areas: March 14, 2014

The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) invites applications for the National Eligibility Test (NET)

Eligibility:
Candidates must have 4 years BE/ BTech/ BPharma/ MBBS/ Integrated BS/MS/M.Sc or equivalent degree with at least 55% (50% for SC/ST candidates).

Candidates enrolled for M.Sc or having completed 10+2+3 years are also eligible to apply

Age Limit
For JRF (NET): Maximum 28 years (upper age limit may be relaxed up to 5 years for SC/ST/OBC).

For LS (NET): No upper age limit.

Selection Procedure
The single paper MCQ based test will be held in six subjects:
(i) Life Sciences,
(ii) Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences,
(iii) Mathematical Sciences,
(iv) Chemical Sciences,
(v) Physical Sciences,
(vi) Engineering Sciences

The MCQ test paper of each subject shall carry a maximum of 200 marks.
Duration: Three hours.

Examination Fee

Rs.400/- for General
Rs.200/- for Other Backward Classes(OBC)
Rs.100/- for SC/ST/Physically Handicapped (PH) or Visually Handicapped (VH )
