Creamy layer Meaning in APPSC Creamy layer is a term used to refer to the relatively wealthier and better educated members of the OBCs. OBC members who are not eligible for government sponsored educational and professional benefit programs. Creamy layer bars the wealthy OBC members from reservation benefit on the basis of family income. Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) Reservation Schedule Schedule Castes (A, B, C, D) – 15% Schedule Tribes – 6% Backward Classes (A, B, C, D) – 25% Physically Handicapped (Blind, Deaf & Dumb and OPH) – 3%(1+1+1) Ex-Service Men 9APMS only) – 1% Women – 33.33% Eligibility Age Limit Maximum age limit : 28 years for Non-Gazetted posts and 26 years for Gazetted posts. 6 years age relaxation is also provided by the government from time to time. Upper age limit relaxed as: SC, ST, BC - 5 years Physically Handicapped - 10 years Retrenched temporary employees in the State Census Department (with a minimum service of 6 months) - 3 years State Government Employees – Up to 5 years Ex-Service Men – 3 years |
