Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR) was established in 1989, it is a multidisciplinary research institute which was established by the Department of Science and Technology of the Government of India, Chemistry and Physics of Materials Unit (CPMU) is mainly concerned with the study of phenomena, Structure-property relations and materials design. The main activities of this unit is deals with the electronic and optical phenomena in organic materials, new forms of carbon, thin films, supramolecular chemistry, porous solids having framework structures, catalysis, nanomaterials, crystal growth Raman & Brillouin scattering surface science, clusters, molecular solids, superconductivity and magnetism.
