Cotton Corporation of India or CCI is a Government of India agency, CCI is a public sector agency responsible for equitable distribution of cotton among the different constituents of the industry and aid imports of cotton. Established in 1970 under Companies Act 1956

CCI buys raw cotton directly from the cotton farmers through the aegis of Agricultural Produce Market Committees (APMCs) conducted auctions in the APMC yards.

All such purchases by CCI are in open competition with other traders and State agencies participating in the auctions and the main objectives remain to ensure remunerative prices to the cotton farmers
