The University of Delhi, informally known as Delhi University, is a collegiate public central university, located in New Delhi, India. It was founded in 1922 by an Act of the Central Legislative Assembly. Professor Yogesh Tyagi is the 22nd Vice Chancellor of Delhi University. Professor Tyagi received his LLM from the Columbia University School of Law in New York, where he was a Silver Fellow and subsequently a Fulbright Scholar. He completed his MPhil and PhD at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). He was the founding Dean of the Faculty of Legal Studies, South Asian University (SAU). Professor Tyagi has served as a Member of the Law Commission of India; Director of the Centre for Studies and Research in International Law and International Relations, The Hague Academy of International Law, The Netherlands, 2015 (the English-speaking section); and Co-Chair of the Research and Planning Committee of the Asian Society of International Law.
