Re: Common Proficiency Test Exam Details

Chartered Accountant Common Proficiency Test is conducted by Institute of Chartered Accountants of India for admitting the aspiring students to Chartered Accountancy course.

Eligibility
Aspirants must have passed 10+2 examination or its equivalent, from any recognized Board

Paper Pattern:-
It is an entry level test held twice a year in June and December

The test comprises of four subjects viz., Accounting
Mercantile Laws
General Economics
Quantitative Aptitude

CPT is an objective type test with negative marking.

This test is for 200 marks and is divided into two sessions of two hours each with a break in between.

Subjects are to be studied in CPT as follows:

SESSION – I ( Two Sections – Two hours – 100 marks )

Section A: Fundamentals of Accounting ( 60 marks )
Section B: Mercantile Laws ( 40 marks )

SESSION – II ( Two Sections – Two hours – 100 marks)

Section C: General Economics ( 50 marks )

Section D: Quantitative Aptitude ( 50 marks)

Date of Notification
10th Sep, 2014

Date of Commencement of Online Filling of CA CPT Exam Form:
7th Oct, 2014

Last Date for Receipt of Hard Copy of Online Filled up Examination Form:
28th Oct, 2014

Date of CPT Examination:
4th Dec, 2014

Date of Declaration of Result:
Around one month from the date of examination

Common Proficiency Test is the first level of Chartered Accountancy examinations in India. Candidate can register for CPT after completing Grade 10.

CPT Important Dates 2015:

Date of Notification:
20th JANUARY 2015

Last Date of Receipt of Applications:
28th April 2015

Date of commencement of Examination:
14th June 2015

Eligibility:
Candidate who has passed the 12th standard examination or awaiting for the 12th class result eligible for appear in the exam.

Candidate can apply online for the exam from official website of ICAI.

Registration and tuition fee : Rs.3500
