Re: Coaching or self study for IIT exam

According to me I think you have to join coaching for IIT exam as it is very difficult exam and not easy to clear but if you are ready to do hard work and able to do self study then there is no need of coaching.

Re: Coaching or self study for IIT exam

To join a coaching institute or to stick with self-study for IIT exam, it totally depends upon you.
You can either join a coaching institute or you can prepare by yourself.
However, last year’s data of students who cleared the IIT JEE Advanced exam shows that more than 50% of the candidates had studied themselves, and not joined any coaching

Percentage of students who attended IIT JEE coaching classes
Percentage of students who did self-studies

Guwahati Zone
38.6%
61.4%
Kanpur Zone
45.2%
54.8%
Roorkee Zone
44.9
55.1
Bombay Zone
47.4
52.6%
Delhi Zone
52.9%
47.1%
Madras Zone
60.6%
39.4%

The data was issued by JEE on the basis of information provided by students in their application forms.
As some point out, often even if the students attend coaching classes, they chose not to mention so in the form. Therefore the data might not be completely accurate.

Everything has its pros and cons and its up to you to join coaching institute or not.
