Re: CLEP Test Trigonometry

College Level Examination Program (CLEP) offers 33 exams in five subject areas, covering material taught in courses that you may generally take in your first two years of college.
By passing a CLEP exam, one can earn 3 to 12 college credits.
Exams cost $80.

CLEP Test Trigonometry

The Trigonometry exam covers material usually taught in a one-semester college course in trigonometry with primary emphasis on analytical trigonometry.
More than half the exam is made up of routine problems requiring basic trig skills; the remainder involves solving non routine problems in which students demonstrate an understanding of the concepts.
Calculator is not permitted in the first part of the exam, but an online non-graphing calculator is available for the second part of the test.
This computer software contains all the topics necessary for success on the CLEP-Trigonometry exam.

(25% of the exam) Trigonometric functions and their relationships: Co function relationships; Reciprocal relationships; Pythagorean relationships; Functions of two angles such as sin(x+y); Functions of double angles such as cos 2x; Functions of half angles; Identities

(15% of the exam) Evaluation of trig functions of angles with terminal sides in the various quadrants or on the axes, including positive and negative angles greater than 360 degrees.

(10% of the exam) Trigonometric equations

(15% of the exam) Interpreting graphs of trig functions

(15% of the exam) Trigonometry of the triangle including the law of sines and the law of cosines

(20% of the exam) Miscellaneous topics such as Inverse functions (arcsin, arccos, arctan) and Polar coordinates.
