Common law admission test (CLAT) is an all India national Law entrance examination conducted on rotation by 14 national Law universities (NLUs). The CLAT exam is conducted for admission to their undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate (PG) degree programs that include LL.B and LL.M. Eligibility: The candidates must have passed/appearing in the class 12th or equivalent from a recognized board and should have scored an aggregate of 45% and 40% in case of reserved category. Exam Pattern The total no. of questions will be 200, each question carrying single mark. The total time allowed for the question paper is 2 hours. The questions will be asked from the following areas: Reasoning – 40 Q Legal Aptitude – 50 Q English & Comprehension – 40 Q Elementary Mathematics – 20 Q General Knowledge and Current Affairs – 50 Q There will be a provision for negative marking (-0.25) for every wrong answers. Tentative dates: Availability of application forms – from January to April 2016 Online submission of application form – Mid April 2016 Accessibility of admit cards – From last week of April 2016 Examination date of CLAT Mid May 2016 Declaration of result – Mid 20th May 2016 CLAT notification |
