The entrance exam for admission to the vacant seats in different Teaching Departments was held on April 9, 2011 in four different shifts.
Entrance Exam for Biotechnology, Business Administration, Law and Physics was held from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.
Entrance Exam for Mathematics, Physical Education, Public Administration and Food Science and Technology was held from 2 p.m. to 3:15 p.m.
Economics, English, Energy and Environment Sciences and Chemistry it was held from 11.30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
Entrance Exam for Commerce Education, Computer Science and Application was held from 4 p.m. to 5:15 pm.

Chaudhary Devi Lal University (CDLU), Sirsa offer admission to Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Programs in Disciplines: (i) Business Administration (ii) Computer Science and Applications (iii) Chemistry (iv) Commerce (v) Economics (vi) Energy & Environmental Sciences (vii) English (viii) Food Science & Technology (ix) Law (x) Physics (xi) Physical Education.


Eligibility Criteria for Admission

 One must have Master / M.Phil. Degree with minimum 55% marks (52.25% for SC/ST/differently abled candidates having more than 40% disability) in aggregate or its equivalent grade in the UGC 7- point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever the grading system is followed) in the subject chosen for research or an allied subject (the alliance and/or equivalence for this purpose only, will be decided by the DRC)

 No fraction will not be rounded off for calculating the percentage for eligibility

 A relaxation of 5% marks (2.75 out of 55) at Master’s / MPhil degree (or equivalent) level will be allowed for SC/ST/differently abled candidates having more than 40% disability) candidate


Entrance Test

 The entrance test will be held once in an academic session as notified by the University; it is conducted by the Controller of Exams of the University

 There is 1 paper of 100 marks consisting of 100 multiple-choice questions of one mark each. The duration of the test shall be 90 minutes

 There shall be negative marking in the entrance test and ¼th (25%) of the marks allotted to the question shall be deducted for each wrong answer


Reservation of Seats

 The admission will be made as per State Reservation Policy which is already approved by Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor for the PhD Ordinance.
