The Combined Graduate Level Examination is conducted by the Staff Selection Commission for recruitment to various subordinate services like:

Assistants Grade [Group `B' Non-Gazetted) for the groups of services/offices like AFHQ CSS, Railway Board, IFS (B) and Posts in offices like Research Designs & Standards Organization, Central Vigilance Commission, etc.

Inspector of Posts (Group `B' Non-Gazetted)

Inspectors of Central Excise, Income Tax, Preventive Officer in Custom Houses, Assistant Enforcement Officers, etc.

Sub-Inspectors in CBI.

Sub-Inspectors of Police in Central Police Organizations, [BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP),

Divisional Accountants/Auditors/Junior Accountants/ UDCs, in various Central Government Departments.

Eligibility

Educational Qualification:
Degree of a recognized University or equivalent.

Age:

Candidate's age must lie between
(a) 20 to 27 years for Assistant Grade & SIs in CBI
(b) 18 to 27 years for inspectors of CE/IT & Div. Acctts/Auditors/UDCs, etc.,
(c) 20 to 25 years for SIs in CPOs on the first day of the August of the year of Examination.

The upper age limit may be relaxed in respect of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes and such other categories of person as may, from time to time, notified in the behalf by the Government of India to the extent and subject to the conditions notified in respect of each categories.

Examination Date – May 2015

Exam Syllabus

General Intelligence and Reasoning:

It would include questions of both verbal and non-verbal type. This component will include questions on analogies, similarities and differences, spatial visualization, spatial orientation, problem-solving, analysis, judgment, decision making, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning, verbal and figure classification, arithmetical number series, non-verbal series, coding and decoding, statement conclusion, syllogistic reasoning, etc.

General Awareness:

Questions will be aimed at testing the candidate's general awareness of the environment around him and its application to society. questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observations and experience in their scientific aspects as may be expected of an educated person.

The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighboring countries, especially pertaining to history, culture, geography, economic scene, general polity, scientific research, etc. These questions will be such that they do not require a special study of any discipline

Arithmetic:

This part will include questions on problems relating to number systems, computation of whole numbers, decimals and fractions and relationships between numbers, fundamental arithmetical operations, percentages, ratio and proportion, averages, interest, profit & loss, discount, use of table and graphs, mensuration, time & distance, ratio and time, etc.
