Centerstone was founded with the association of Pinnacle Health (Columbia Area Mental Health Center, Harriett Cohn Center and Highland Rim Mental Health Center) and Dede Wallace Center.

For almost 60 years, the facilities which have been provided for professional behavioral health services as well as advanced programs to people who suffer with mental illness and addiction.

Centerstone comprises of more than 50 facilities throughout Middle Tennessee. The Centre offers a full-range of mental health services, substance abuse treatment and educational services in Tennessee.
Serving nearly 50,000 children adolescents, adults, seniors and their families annually
Almost over 50 facilities and 160 schools and community partnership locations
Is Accredited by CARF International
Is on the forefront in clinical research and health information technology

Luton Mental Health Services attached the Centerstone affiliation in 1998, and the Elam Mental Health Clinic started in January 2000. Once the merger was finalised in July 2000, Centrestone began a transition period to allow the clients, employees and communities to adapt to the new, unified operation and identity.

In 2002, all of the facilities officially adopted the name Centerstone. However, some of the locations retained a reference to their original names at their site, in honor of the individuals after whom they were named.
