Re: Center For The Study Of The American Dream At Xavier University
Xavier University is a Jesuit, Catholic university located in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India. It was authorized by the Odisha Legislative Assembly in 2013 making it the first Jesuit university in India Xavier offers over 90 undergraduate and 40 graduate degrees in a variety of fields and formats. We provide a personalized and challenging academic experience to students as they journey toward advancing their careers Nationally Ranked Xavier is nationally ranked for its strong academic reputation and quality education. For the 25th consecutive year, we finished in the top 10 of U.S. News & World Report's best Midwest Universities, with a ranking of No. 5 on the 2020 list. In addition, Xavier was also named: 4th in the Midwest for Veterans 8th in the Midwest on the “Most Innovative Schools” list 48th in the Midwest for Best Value Schools 112th among all undergraduate business programs (out of 504 AACSB accredited programs) we acknowledge and celebrate the inextricable link between the Declaration of Independence and the American Dream. After all, the Declaration is the parent of our Dreams. Protected by the principles of the Declaration, the American Dream is an attitude a person is born with whether or not they are born in America -- which is one reason why immigration is so important to America's growth and prosperity. The Dream is too often represented inaccurately and self interestedly by commentators, candidates, advertisers and economists. Surprising to some, the American Dream is not primarily about material acquisition or wealth accumulation. It is more than anything an attitude about possibility and improvement. We must remind ourselves that the term "American Dream" was coined in the midst of the Great Depression, not in a time of great prosperity. |
