CBI Officer Qualification
Can you tell me the procedure and qualification required to become CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) officer as I want to try my luck in that field?

The Central Bureau of Investigation or CBI is an agency which detects crime and helps to solve cases relating to the national security The CBI is controlled by the Ministry of Personnel headed by the Union Minister who reports directly to the Prime Minister of India. Eligibility Required Candidates who are applying for the UPSC examination must be citizens of India. They must be minimum 20 years at the time of applying. SC/ST/OBC candidates must be minimum 30 years when they apply. The candidates who qualify in the written test are later called for a Physical Test and Interview. Qualifying Exam Those candidates who have completed their graduation with a minimum of 55% marks are eligible to appear for this exam. Candidates who want to join the CBI have to clear Union Public Service Commission Examination. It is called the Combined Graduate Level Examination. The Scheme of the Examination will be conducted in three Tiers. They are written exam, which is an objective Multiple choice type, main written exam which is also objective multiple choice type and personality test /interview or skill test. Candidates opting for post of Sub-Inspector in CPOs will have to undergo Physical Endurance Test (PET)/ Medical exam at any convenient time after declaration of result of Tier I. The duration of Tier 1 is 2 hours. The areas of assessment include General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, Numerical Ability and English Comprehension. The area of assessment in Tier 2 is English Language and Comprehension. Physical Standard required for CBI: Height should be 164 CMS Weight should be correlated to height Chest should be 80 CMS Eye Vision should be 6/9 |
