I am planning to do MBA degree from top business school and for this I know I have to appear in CAT (Common Admission Test). Will you please tell Eligibility criteria for CAT and important dates for exam and also provide details related to CAT Exam Admission Process?

CAT (Common Admission Test) is all-India national level computer based test conducted by IIMs (Indian Institutes of Management) as entrance exam for admission to management programs.

Eligibility criteria for CAT:

Engineering Degree – B.Tech/ B.E.
Recognized by MHRD/ UPSC/AICTE
50% (45% for SC, ST, PWD candidates)

Bachelor’s Degree from any University
Recognized by UGC
50% (45% for SC, ST, PWD candidates)

Selection Process

Information related to CAT 2016 results will be available starting 2nd week of January, 2017 on IIMCAT.

ADMISSION PROCESS

Please note that each IIM shortlisted candidates for second stage of selection which may be independent of each other.

The process may include:

Written Ability Test (WAT)
Group Discussions (GD) and
Personal Interviews (PI)

Performance in CAT 2016 examination is an important component in the admission process.

ELIGIBILITY VERIFICATION

If a candidate is short-listed for interviews by any IIM, he/she has to comply with the following eligibility verification:

Mark sheets and Degree Certificate
Reservation Category Requirements
Candidates in the Final Year of Graduation
