Re: Career in NGO after B.Com
As you said that you have good communication skill with good English fluency it’s very good because at this time it is very important thing of personality But as you have 4 back papers in your graduation degree B.Com which is not good so try to complete your graduation course with good marks Then go for P.G. Diploma course through any government recognized university. You can also do P.G. Diploma in mass communication as you have good communication skill so it will be best for you. After it you can join NGO You can do P.G. Diploma in mass communication from these colleges Dayalbagh Deemed institute, Agra, Lucknow University Delhi University Amity University Jadavpur University University of Calcutta IGNOU Panjab University |

Re: Career in NGO after B.Com
NGOs have become more dedicated and business oriented. Owing to the character of their work and their target group they aim for recruiting specialists for their jobs viz. a Non Government Organization working in the field of women’s issue would prefer a professional (say Gynaecologist to provide better medical care) on the issue. Some NGO’s working on issues relating to international matters would prefer postgraduates in international relations & one dealing with issues of industrial workers prefers post graduates in industrial worker’s laws or trade disputes. NGOs have a highly corporatised arrangement where there are different levels of hierarchy. Usually the individual starts as a Research Fellow depending upon his/her professional qualifications while climbing up the hierarchy he/she can become group: leader and later team leader. Many professionals join NGOs at a later phase of their life in their capacity as goodwill ambassadors or advisors. For pursuing a career one has to have a degree for the same & some of the courses which can be pursed are given below which requires a graduate in any discipline or an equivalent education from a recognised University: PG Diploma in NGO Management M.Sc in NGO Management MBA in NGO Management Certificate programme in NGO Management The various Institutes which offer these courses are: Amity University, Noida Jamia Milia Islamia, New Delhi Dr. BR Ambedkar Open University, Hyderabad The Global Open University, Nagaland Annamalai University, Directorate of Distance Education, Annamalai Nagar Madurai Kamaraj University, Directorate of Distance Education, Madurai Some of the known NGOs in India Aadhar :Action for Gender Justice and Empowerment. Aashray: Centre for Child Welfare. Action for Autismeals with health issues. Aadhar: Dealing with rural development. BAHA’I Office for Advancement of Women: Deals with Child welfare, education, human rights. Bastar Sewa Mandal |
