University of Calicut, Kerala invited applications for entrance examination and direct admission to Doctor of Philosophy Programme for the academic year 2017.

The PhD Programme
Eligible candidates for admission to the PhD Programme under the streams:
(i) Full-time
(ii) Part-time under the faculties of Science, Language & Literature, Humanities, Commerce & Mgmt. Studies, Education, Journalism and Fine Arts of this University

One ordinarily worked in a recognized place of research including the University Departments, Research Institutes and Affiliated Colleges recognized by the University

Important Dates
Commencement of Online Registration Form: 13th February 2017
Last Date of Online Registration: 27th February 2017
Last Date for Receipt of Print out of Applications: 03rd March 2017
Date of Entrance Exam: 07th March 2017
Date of Publication of Result: 20th March 2017

Eligibility

(a) Persons who had passed PG Degree (Master Degree) Exam with at least 50% marks or equivalent Grade Point Average of this University or an equivalent degree recognized by University of Calicut
Relaxations for minimum marks were applicable to reserved category students (or) Persons working in National Laboratories- Institutes/Universities/Govt./Private Organization nominated/sponsored by the respective employer. These persons had a PG degree with 50% marks, and holding a permanent position there

(b) Above-mentioned rules were also be applicable to the foreign candidates who had obtained Master Degree from the statutory Indian Universities or equivalent degree from abroad

(c) Teachers of the Colleges, Aided or Govt., affiliated to the University, Secondary & Higher Sec. Teachers

(d) Percentage of marks for foreign candidates (those who had not obtained Master degree from Indian Universities) were 50% or equivalent GPA

(e) One belonged to SC/ST category and those having 40% or more physical disability, require only a pass in the qualifying PG degree exam
