Calicut University has released notification for admission in Post Graduate PG Programme through an Entrance Examination for the academic year 2018-19.

PG Eligibility Criteria

For M.Sc Health and Yog Therapy

Any graduate in Medical Science MBBS, BAMS, BHMS/Graduate in Biological Sciences eg: Zoology, Biochemistry, Dietetics & Nutrition, Microbiology, Home Science, Bio Technology, Clinical Psychology, Physiology, Chemistry, any other Science graduate; any Humanities and Commerce graduate. Any graduate from education or Physical Education Faculty. A minimum of 45% marks should be obtained for graduation. 45% should be obtained for selection test.

For M.Sc General Biotechnology

Degree (10+2+3) with 55% marks/equivalent grade in Biotechnology, Bio-Informatics, Biochemistry, Micro Biology, Botany, Zoology, Medical Laboratory Technology, Chemistry, B.Sc. Agriculture, B.V.Sc, B.Pharm, Life Sciences of this University or any other equivalent Degree approved by the University.

For MSW

Bachelors Degree in any discipline recognised by the University of Calicut with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks. Aggregate marks means the total marks obtained for part I English and part III(main and subsidiary) subjects. For those disciplines, which do not have English, only main and subsidiary marks will be taken into consideration.

For M.C.J

Bachelor degree of this University or any other University recognised by Calicut University as equivalent thereto with an aggregate of 45% marks. Professional graduates will be considered, if they secure 60% marks in overall subjects.
For Backward community and SC/ST candidates, the minimum aggregate marks required to apply will be as per University rules.

For M.Sc Applied Psychology

Bachelor degree of this University or any other University recognised as equivalent by this University with Psychology as one of the papers in Part III either Main or Sub.

For M.Sc Clinical Psychology

Candidates who have passed their Bachelor’s Degree recognized by this University with at least 50% marks in any of the following courses.

BA/BSc Psychology
MBBS/BHMS/BAMS/BSc Nursing
Bachelor’s Degree with Psychology as one of the main or subsidiary subjects.

For M.Sc Food Science and Technology

50% marks in Part III Optional in any B.Sc Degree and approved by this University with Mathematics as one of the optional subject in +2 or B.Sc. Level.

For Master of Physical Education

A pass in BPE or BPEd of this University or any other University duly recognized by this University and minimum sports achievements should be a second place in the Inter Collegiate or Inter district competitions (AIU recognized sports) conducted by the Universities in Kerala or recognized sports associations approved by the Kerala Sports Council. The upper age limit to the course shall be 25 years as on the I st July of the year of admission. Relaxation upto 5 years in age shall be given to those candidates who have participated in inter University Tournaments or National level tournaments or in service candidates (Physical Education teachers)with minimum of 3 years experience and deputed by the appointing authority and SC/ST candidates.

For M.Sc Radiation Physics

Degree in Physics with 60% marks and with Mathematics as one of the subjects, under regular stream of study (10+2+3) of University of Calicut or any other University/Institution approved by the UGC and recognized as equivalent to by the University of Calicut.

For M.A (Folklore)

Any graduation recognised by UGC /Calicut University with a minimum of 45% marks. Those who are having Post-graduation are also eligible for admission.

For M.Sc Environmental science

Degree in any Science discipline recognized by the University of Calicut, with 50% marks/equivalent grade

For M.Sc Computer Science

The candidate applying for admission to MSc Computer Science should have secured at least 55% of marks or equivalent grade in BSc. (Computer Science or Information Technology or Electronics or Physics or Mathematics or Statistics or Chemistry) or BCA or B.Tech/BE (Computer Science or Information Technology or Electronics or Electronics and Telecommunication or Electronics and Communication).

For M.Sc Applied Zoology

BSc Degree of this University with Zoology (main) or equivalent degree with 50% marks or equivalent grade for Part III excluding subsidiaries

MSc Applied Geology

B.Sc Degree in Geology or Geology & Water Management as Core Courses with Physics/Chemistry / Statistics / Remote Sensing / GIS / Mathematics as Complementary courses with at least 50% marks (or equivalent grades) are eligible for admission to this programme.
For Backward community and SC/ST candidates, the minimum aggregate marks required to apply will be as per University rules.

MSc Applied Chemistry

B.Sc Degree of this University with Chemistry/ Industrial Chemistry/Polymer Chemistry (Main) or equivalent degree with Physics & Mathematics subsidiaries with at least 50% marks for Part III (excluding subsidiaries). OBC/OEC candidates are eligible to relaxation up to 5%. SC/ST candidates need only to get a pass.

MSc Psychology

UG Degree of this University with Psychology (main)/Any other course under the faculty of Social Science/BehavioralScience/Humanities/Science with at least one Core/Complementary course in Psychology or equivalent degree with at least 50% marks for Part III. OBC/OEC candidates are eligible to relaxation up to 5%. SC/ST candidates need only to get a pass.

Msc Applied Plant Science

Bsc Degree of this University with Botany/Plant Science/Applied Botany (Main)/Any Double or Triple main B Sc with one of the main subject is Botany or Plant Science or equivalent degree with at least 50% marks for Part III (excluding subsidiaries). OBC/OEC candidates are eligible to relaxation up to 5%. SC/ST candidates need only to get a pass.

Examination Pattern

The type of questions can be objective only, descriptive only or a combination of objective and descriptive questions.

If it is a combination, the proportion of marks for objective and descriptive questions can be 50% each.

If the entrance examination includes objective type questions alone, 1/3 marks be deducted for each wrong answer.

If it includes combination of objective type and descriptive type questions or descriptive questions only no negative scores that is no deduction of marks for wrong answers.
