Candidate with Masters Degree in one of the above subjects or in allied subject can apply for admission to the PhD Course Work Program

University of Burdwan PhD Admission Process
Candidate with minimum qualifying marks of 50% or as may be determined by the appropriate authority at the written test.
Qualified candidate, at the written test need to appear at the interview test & must obtain minimum 50% marks or as may be determined by appropriate authority and will have to pursue Course Work.

Admission to Ph. D. Course Work Programme in Science, Arts, Commerce etc. General information to the candidates:

(i) Candidates are selected for admission to Course Work Programme through written test and/or Personal interview, as the case may be.
(ii) All qualified candidates in the written test are required to qualify in the subsequent viva-voce for admission to course work.
(iii) The candidate who have an M.Phil./M.Tech./M.S./L.L.M./M.C.A. or a Degree deemed equivalent having minimum 6 years of Under-graduate and Post-graduate studies, or who have qualified in the NET/SET/GATE/SLET/UGC(JRF)/CSIR(JRF) or any other exams that may be deemed equivalent by the appropriate authority or Teacher Fellowship holder are exempted from appearing at the written test.
