Hi I want to get some details for the National Institute of Technology Rourkela NITRKL Biju Patnaik Central Library BPCL so can you please help me in the same ???

Well the Central Library of NITR is named after Biju Patnaik who is the former Chief Minister of Orissa.

It is working since 1965.

BPCL Features

At present, the library presently holds about 59,000 books and 15,000 back volumes of periodicals.

It has online journals and standards supplied by INDEST-AICTE consortium, the library has purchased license to access more than 2000 online science and technology research journals to support local research activity.

The BPCL has many ISI codes, educational video courses & cassettes and CD-ROMS etc.

The BPCL had undertaken various initiatives such as Institutional Repository (IR), Electronic Thesis and Dissertations (ETD), Web-based video courses, Blog etc.

ETD is an institutional open access thesis and dissertations repository of National Institute of Technology

It is mandatory for students of all courses and from all disciplines to upload the final version of the theses submitted as partial fulfillment of degree.

IR is an open access repository system to make the local research outputs. It holds a little less than 1256 documents presently.

Web-based video courses called ‘OpenCourseWare’ NPTEL program is collaborative project of IITs and IISc Bangalore.

The library acquired 5 major engineering disciplines such as civil, computer science and engineering, electrical, electronics and communication and mechanical engineering

Open Access to Oriya Books (OAOB) initiated by National Institute of Technology, Rourkela, Srujanika, Bhubaneswar and Pragati Utkal Sangh, Rourkela.
