Bodyguards protect individuals or groups from risk of violence, kidnapping or any other harmful situation. Entry requirements To work as a CPO in England and Wales you are required by law to have a SIA licence. To get a licence you will need: To be aged 18 or over Identity and criminal record checks Complete a SIA approved training course Provide evidence that you have a recognised first aid award Skills, interests and qualities Quick reactions Good observational skills The ability to recognise potentially dangerous situations Discretion and understand the need for client confidentiality Calmness under pressure The ability to adapt and improvise in different situations Decision-making and planning skills Good written and spoken communication skills Salary Remuneration is often paid on a contractual basis A daily rate is common and the amount paid depends on the risk factor involved. Low risk, national operations pay from £300 - £400 per day. Medium risk overseas operations pay around £400 - £500 per day. High risk operations pay around £1000 per day. Extremely high risk operations pay up to £1500 per day. |
