The Department of Biotechnology of Guru Nanak Dev University was established in 1991 by the Government of India.
The department admits the students to a Postgraduate Biotechnology Programme through an All India Combined Entrance Test (AICET) and university test for admission to M.Sc. Bioinformatics programme.
The students selected through AICET in Biotechnology are awarded a scholarship of Rs.1200.00 P.M. throughout the two years of their study.
