Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University (IMS BHU), will admit candidates for MBBS and BDS programmes on the basis of results of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2017.

Admissions to approximately 134 MBBS and BDS seats will be on the basis of 85% state quota seats. The remaining admissions to 15% All India Quota seats will be done by Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).

BHU MBBS Eligibility Criteria 2017

One, who is eligible for NEET 2017, can apply for BHU MBBS BDS 2017 irrespective of their state of domicile.

According to the eligibility criteria, Indian national/Non Resident Indians (NRI’s)/ Overseas Citizen of India (OCI’s)/ Persons of Indian Origin (PIO’s) / Foreign Nationals are eligible to apply for BHU MBBS BDS 2017.

One must also have completed 17 years of age at the time of admission or will complete as on 31st December, 2017.

The upper age limit for desirous aspirants who wish to take admissions to BHU’s MBBS or BDS courses must be 25 years as on the date of examination and candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC category have a relaxation of 5 years.

BHU MBBS Selection Procedure 2017

IMS BHU will shortlist candidates for admission, who appeared in NEET 2017, for MBBS and BDS programmes in BHU.

One securing the requisite percentile in NEET 2017 are eligible for BHU MBBS BDS 2017 admission. Those belonging to general categories are required to score a minimum of 50 percentile in NEET 2017.

Further, candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (SC/ST) have to secure at least 40 percentile in NEET 2017.

BHU MBBS Counselling 2017


One will be called for counselling procedure of BHU MBBS BDS 2017 post declaration of NEET 2017 results and the release of merit list by IMS BHU.

The counselling is held for the allotment of 84 MBBS seats and 50 BDS seats in IMS BHU.
