Re: Bharati Vidyapeeth University Post Graduate Entrance Exam

The Bharati Vidyapeeth University is one of the largest universities in India.
It was founded by Patangrao Kadam in 1964 in the Pune city of India.
The university has campuses in Pune, New Delhi, Navi Mumbai, Solapur, Kolhapur, Karad and Sangli.
It also has a campus in the United Arab Emirates in the city of Dubai.

BVU MCA PG Entrance exam:
The BVU conduct the B-CAT for offering admission into the MCA course here I am providing the details related to the BVU MCA PG course entrance exam:

Eligibility:
The candidate should have secured at least 50% (45% for SC/ST) in aggregate at graduate level university examination.
The knowledge of mathematics/ statistics at XII level or higher level is essential except for BCA, B. Sc (Computer), BCS graduates.

The candidate should be an Indian National.


Selection procedure:
The BVU MCA entrance test is based on the B-CAT exam.


How to apply:

Offline Application Procedure:
The candidate should submit the Application Form to the Registrar, Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University, Bharati Vidyapeeth Bhawan, L.B.S. Marg, Pune-411030 the Application Form, enclosed along with this brochure, duly completed along with payment of Rs. 600/ - towards Entrance Test fee in cash or through Bank Draft on any nationalised Bank or on any branch of Bharati Sahakari Bank Ltd. drawn in favour of "The Registrar, Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University" payable at Pune.

The complete application form along with payment of test fee is to be submitted to the Registrar, Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University, Bharati Vidyapeeth Bhawan, L.B.S. Marg, Pune-30, either in person or through post / courier.

The University will not be responsible for any delay or loss of application/ admission card/counselling letter/any communication in transit.

A candidate desirous of filling online application forms for MCA should visit the website of BVU.


Exam pattern:
The BVU MCA entrance exam pattern is as given below:

The entrance test B-CAT for admission to MCA Programme consists of in all 200 marks.

The duration of the B-CAT Test will be for 2 hours.

The B-CAT Test will consist of in all 200 marks.
It consists of 200 multiple choice questions with four alternatives for each. One has to choose the right / probable choice.
There is no negative marking. The break up of the marks is as follows:

The Thapar university MCA entrance exam syllabus is as given below:

Section-I
Mathematics

Geometry:
Two-Dimentional; straight lines, circles and conic sections, Three-Dimensional; straight lines and spheres


Algebra:
Sets theory, Relations, Mappings and its applications, Permutations and Combinations, Bionomial Theorem, Complex numbers and their properties: Demoivre’s theorem and its applications

Calculus:
Limits, Continuity and Differentiability, Rolle’s and Mean value theorems, Differentiation, Partial Differentiation, Maxima and Minima of functions of one and two variable. Successive differentiation
Integration by using substitution, partial fraction and by parts, Definite integral and its properties, Applications of definite integral to evaluate length and are of simple plane curves

Vector Analysis: Scalar and vector products including their applications

Statistics, Probability and Linear Programming:
Measures of Central tendency, Dispersion, Skewness and Kurtosis Correlation and Regression Basic concepts of probability, Conditional probability, Baye’s theorem, Discrete and continuous distributions (Binomial, Poisson, and normal distributions), Fundamentals of linear programming problems, Graphical solution, Simplex method and its variants


Matrices:
Types of matrices, rank of a matrix, solution of system of linear equations, Cayley Hamilton theorem, Inverse of a matrix, Determinant and its properties.


Ordinary Differential Equations:
Differential equations of first order and their solutions, Linear differential equations of first and higher order with constant coefficients.

Numerical Analysis:
Solution of non-linear equations using iterative methods, Interpolation (Newton’s, Lagrange’s and Forward formulae), Numerical Integration (Trapezoid and Simpson Rule)


Section-II
Computer Awareness

Computer Basics:
Organization of a computer, Central Processing Unit (CPU), Structure of instructions in CPU, input/output devices, computer memory, memory organization, back-up devices.


Data Representation:
Representation of characters, integers, and fractions, binary and hexadecimal representations, Binary Arithmetic: Addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, floating point representation of numbers, normalized floating point representation, Boolean algebra: truth tables, Venn diagrams.


Computer Architecture:
Block structure of computers, communications between processor and I/O devices, interrupts.


Computer Language and Operating Systems:
Flow charts and algorithms, Concepts of low level and high level languages, Computer programming in C (data types, loop and control statements, functions), Fundamentals of operating systems: multiprogramming, multitasking and time sharing systems

Section-III
General Knowledge/Analytical Ability

The question in this section will cover logical reasoning, quantitative reasoning, visual-spatial reasoning and also this section shall carry questions to test the general awareness about business, finance, industry, transportation, scientific inventions, information technology, governance, healthcare and cultural dimensions etc
