The Bath Spa University employs CCTV, a parking enforcement officer and an Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) system at its Newton Park Campus to assist with the enforcement of parking terms and conditions, as well as for general safety and security purposes.

Students, staff and visitors should not park in residential areas adjacent to campuses, particularly near Newton Park, where overflow parking is available at a more suitable and convenient location: off-site park and ride location on Lower Bristol Road.


Terms and Conditions

General

The University shall mean Bath Spa University and shall include persons authorised to act on its behalf in respect of parking.

The Campuses in the first instance shall mean the Newton Park, Sion Hill, Corsham Court and Locksbrook Road Campuses, but can be extended to include other Bath Spa University facilities.

The Car Parks shall mean any car parks, parking spaces or other bays within the Campuses or sites over which the University has control and permits its users to park in association with the Campuses.

The Permit shall mean any valid and current Bath Spa Parking Permit, types of which will be outlined in due course.

The Permit Holder shall mean any person who has applied for and paid for a valid Bath Spa University Parking Permit.

Pay and Display Ticket shall mean a ticket purchased to the required value displayed on the pay and display machines located on the Newton Park or Sion Hill Campuses. The Pay and Display Ticket is valid at either campus, for the time specified on the ticket.

A Validation Ticket shall mean a ticket purchased by a Staff/Student Validation Permit Holder, to the value of £1 for a day’s parking at either Newton Park or Sion Hill Campuses. The Validation Ticket is eligible for use at either campus on the day of purchase.

Students shall mean those who are attending the University (any campus) on a course of study.

Staff shall mean persons employed by the University on a permanent, temporary, fixed term, casual contract, or via an employment agency.

Security shall mean those personnel employed by Bath Spa University within the security function

Parking Charge Notice (PCN) shall mean a charge levied for not adhering to these terms and conditions

Bays shall mean designated parking spaces, which will be clearly marked by road markings (studs) and/or signs.
