A customs house agent (CHA) is licensed to act as an agent for transaction of any business relating to the entry or departure of conveyances or the import or export of goods at a customs station in India. They maintain detailed, itemized and up-to-date accounts. A CHA license may be temporary or permanent.

Qualifications
An applicant should:
Be a graduate of a recognized university.
Hold a pass in Form 'G' as an employee of the firm or company.
Should have three years of experience in customs-clearance work.
Should have bank-certified assets of Rs.1 lakhs or Rs.50,000.
If there are more applicants than licenses, the Commissioner selects by seniority of holding a G pass.
If two people have equal seniority, the older person will be preferred.

Application forms

Application forms will be available at the Custom Office of every state July onwards

Graduation Marks
There is no minimum marks requirement

Notification
All notifications are published on Customs website of every state

Age
There is no age bar

Exam Date
Exam is on 5th September every year

*1. I have completed my TYBA from Yashwant Row open university (YCMOU- Nasik) so can I Apply CHA exam with this certificate?

I have completed HSC exam. Am I eligible for giving exam of the custom house agent? Will you please provide me the information about the eligibility and the exam of the custom house agent? I am working in CHA as operation executive. but i want to start my own business CHA, so pls give me the information related to application form and eligibility for the open and CHA firm,
